If you have created a new website, most of you will not receive a lot of commands. But if your site grows overtime you will receive a lot of spam comments. If you manually go through them, it will take a lot of time. Step-by-Step Guide to Set up Akismet on Your Website

Let’s go ahead and protect your website from spam comment using the Akismet plugin. So, apparently when you install WordPress on your WordPress site, you will notice that the Akismet plugin is installed automatically but it is not activated. In case it is not installed this is how the Akismet plugin looks.

the moment you activated the plugin come on you need to start setting up the plugin for the sub so click on set up Akismet the account.

In the new tab you will see the packages of Akismet, but for now we want to use the free version, so click on get personal.

Since we are using the personal account we don’t have to pay a single coin. For that you have to drag the slider to the left and the charges will be $0.00. Then you have to fill in the required information such as e-mail, website name, and you have to also agree with the terms and condition and click continue at the bottom.

After completing that section, it’s going to send you a confirmation e-mail into your mentioned e-mail, you need to copy and paste the code to confirm that it is you.

Now you will receive an API key into your e-mail account. You need to open that and copy the API code.

Now go to your website, click on the “Manually enter an API Key”, paste the code and click on connect with API key.
